INTRODUCTION:

Photoshop is most powerful & standard image editing program. It is special used for graphics professional for editing/ scanned images & creating new bitmap graphics. It is developed by Adobe Corporation.

Application Name:      Photoshop. exe.

Extension Name   :      PSD, TIF, JPEG, PDF Files formats

To Start Photoshop:

    • Click on start menu

 

  • Select program
  • Then click on Adobe Photoshop
  • Click on start menu/ windows+R
  • Then type the Photoshop. exe.
  • Then press enter or click on ok button

To open a blank image:

  • Go to file menu
  • Click on new
  • Then type the name that image
  • Then define the preset size, resolution, & color mode
  • Finally click on ok button

To open a graphics or existing image:

  • Go to file menu
  • Click on open
  • Then choose the location where is available picture.
  • Then select picture
  • Then click on open

or

  • Double click on empty window
  • Then select location
  • Then choose picture
  • Click on open

NOTE: do not use the original picture. If you distort the original picture that will may damage. So, you should duplicate it.

 

To create duplicate image:

  • Right click on title bar of original image
  • Then click on duplicate the image
  • Then define the name of duplicate image
  • Then click on ok button

Or

  • Go to image menu
  • Click on duplicate

Marquee tool(M):

It offers different four formats:

Rectangular, Elliptical, Single Row & single column Each format is used to select area of an image .As you click and drag the boundary of the selection will appear as moving dashed lines. It four options (select, Addition, subtraction, intersect)

Rectangular marquee tool:

It is used to select an entire image or a part of image in rectangular shape.

Elliptical Marquee Tool:

It is used to select an entire image or a parts of image in elliptical shape.

Single row & column marquee tool:

It used to select a single row or single column with 1 pixel width.

Move Tool(V):

it is used to move a part of an image with selection within an image or between different images.

Lasso Tool(L);

It offers three different tool like lasso, polygon, lasso &magnetic lasso

Lasso Tool:

It is used for freeform selection with the left mouse button.

Polygon Lasso Tool(L):

It is also used for freeform selection defining required nodes.

Magnetic Lasso Tool:It is used for totally freeform selection First click on at any required point  to define first node and then drag around an image.

Magic wand Tool(W):

It is the most important and useful tool; it selects the similar colour of an area of an image.

Crop Tool(C):

It is used to   crop an image to draw a box around the part of the image you wish to corp.

Slice Tool (K):

This option is used to create a slice, which can be used to hyperlink with required Webpage you can create user-slice tool from a selection or from guides.

Patch Tool (J):

The patch tool lets you repair a selected area pixels from another area or a pattern. Like the healing brush tool, the patch tool matches the textures, lighting and shading of the sampled pixels to the source pixels.

Healing Brush Tool (I):

The healing brush tool lets you correct impetrations, causing them to disappear into the surrounding image. Like the cloning tools, you use the healing brush tool to paint with sampled pixels from an image or pattern.

Paint Brush Tools (B);

the paint brush tool is used to apply in a uniform width with either soft or hard edges.the struck can very useful for image editing or creating special effect . It two options pencil, paintbrush

Usage;

Select paint brush

Hold alt key and then drag it in image area.

Clone Brush tool (S):

It is used to copy the pixels in one part of an image for application in another part of an image. It two options pattern stamp, clone stamp.

Usage;

Select clone stamp tool

Hold alt key and drag it on another blank area.

After then create duplicate image

History brush tool(Y);

This tool is used in conjunction with the history palette, the history brush paints back previous image edits. It two options history art history.

Usage:

Select history brush

Drag it in an image area

Eraser tool(E):

The eraser tool is used to apply the background color or underlying pixel to full transparency9no color0. it carries three options background, magic, eraser.

Usage:

Drag it in an image area

Gradient tool (G);

This tool includes linear gradient, radial gradient, angle gradient, reflected gradient and diamond gradients. It carries two options paints bucket, gradients.

Usage;

Blur tool (R): the blur tool provides three options blur sharpen, smudge. each alters the focus of a selected area of an image.

Usage:

Drag it in crop area an image

(Dodge tool): in side of this tool there are available three sub tools. They are Dodge tool, burn tool, Sponge tool,

Dodge tool is used to lighten a portion of an image.

Burn tool is used to darken a portion of an image………

The sponge tool is to change colour saturation in the desired portion of an image

 

(Path selection tool):

On side of this tool, there are available two sub tools. They are the path selection tool &Direct selection tool. The path selection tool is used to select a path component. A direct selection tool is used to select a path segment of an object.(Type tool(T)):

In side of this tool there are available four sub tools. They are Horizontal, vertical type tool and horizontal type mask tool, vertical type mask tool.

(Pen tool (P):

In side of this tool, there are available 5 sub tools. They are Pen tool, freeform pen tool, Add anchor point tool, Delete anchor point tool, convert point tool. The pen tool is used to draw a straight line and smoothly curved paths on an image. The freeform pen tool is used to draw freeform lined paths on the image. Add anchor point tool is used to add the anchor point on the path. This tool is generally used in road mapping. The delete anchor point tool is used to delete any anchor point and is an alternative to adding an anchor point tool. The convert point tool is used to edit anchor points on the path.

(Customs shapes tool):

There are available many customs shapes. They are Rectangle, Round Rectangle, Ellipse, Polygon, line, etc. These tools are used to paint many shapes on the image. The paint colour is the foreground colour that can set as desire.

(Note tool):

In side of this tool are available two sub tools. They are Audio annotation tool & Note tool .Audio annotation tool is used to record the audio information about the image in symbolic form Note tool is used to keep the text information about that image in symbolic form.

(Eye dropper tool):

In side, this tool is available two sub tools. They are Eye dropper tool & Measure tool. The eye dropper tool is used to select the foreground colour from any graphic.The measure tool is used to find the distance between any two points.

(Hand tool):

This tool is to scroll image.

(Zoom tool):

This tool is used to increase & decrease the zoom size.

(Foreground colour tool):

This tool is used to define the foreground colour.

(Background color):

This tool is used to define the background colour.

(Mask tool):

This tool s used to mask an image.

(Edit mask made tool):

This tool is used to unmask an image or edit the masking area.

(Screen mode tool):

These tools are used to define the screen mode. E.g. stander mode, full screen mode, full screen with menu bar, etc.

(Jump to):

This tool is used to jump next program (Image ready, this program is also developed by Adobe Corporation).

To change the colour mode of an image

  • Go to image
  • Then select mode
  • Then choose the required colour mode. (E.g. RGB, Bitmap, Grayscale, etc)

To define fill on the selected layer

To define fill on the selected layer

  • Go to edit menu
  • Click on fill
  • Then select fill style E.g. Pattern, Foreground color, Background color, etc.

To fade the fill image

  • After over filling an image
  • Go to edit menu
  • Click on fade fill
  • Then define the opacity
  • Finally, click on the ok button

To define an image to brush

  • Activate an image
  • Go to edit menu
  • Click on define the opacity
  • Then type the name of the brush
  • Then click on the ok button
